Titebond

Titebond is a range of professional wood adhesives used in furniture making, cabinet making, joinery, and general woodworking. It is one of the most widely respected wood glue brands in the world, trusted for strong, reliable bonds that are easy to sand and machine after curing. Titebond glues are suitable for everything from everyday furniture joints to exterior timber construction, depending on which formula you choose.

Titebond Original (I) is an aliphatic resin PVA designed for interior woodworking where moisture resistance is not required. Titebond II is a cross-linking PVA that provides water resistance, making it suitable for outdoor furniture and applications that may see occasional moisture. Titebond III is the top of the range, a fully waterproof exterior-grade glue that meets the ANSI/HPVA Type I water resistance standard, suitable for outdoor and marine applications.

Titebond II is water resistant rather than fully waterproof, it handles intermittent moisture well and is suitable for outdoor furniture that is kept covered or sheltered, but it is not recommended for joints that are permanently or frequently exposed to weather. For furniture that will live fully outdoors, Titebond III is the better choice as it provides a fully waterproof bond.

Titebond Liquid Hide glue is a ready-to-use version of traditional hot animal hide glue that has been used in furniture making and instrument building for centuries. It is the preferred glue for antique furniture restoration because the glue line can be reversed with heat and moisture, allowing joints to be re-glued without damaging the timber. It is also widely used by luthiers (instrument makers) for the same reversibility.
