Description

The Most Capable Woodworking Triangle Sized for a Systainer®

Unboxing the MTR-18 video.
Watch this video for a hands-on introduction of the MTR-X by Jason Bent of Bent's Woodworking.

Attached to your worktop, connected to your guide rail, around the shop, or on the jobsite—the MTR-X is the ultimate compact woodworking triangle. Embodying all of the features of our popular MTR-18 but in a more compact form factor, the MTR-X includes a full array of problem-solving accessories housed in a protective CNC-cut Kaizen foam Systainer insert.

Measuring 9.70" (246mm) along the square edges and 13.64" (346mm) on the long edge, the MTR-X is ideal for a wide range of typical triangle duties: marking or scribing a perfect 45° or 90° reference, squaring the inside of casework and drawers, and calibrating equipment such as miter gauges, jointer fences, MFT/3 hinged guide rails, and sliding compound miter saws.

MTR-X: Attached to 20mm Worktop

With a unique design featuring five 20mm bored holes and a 20mm swept arc, the MTR-X can be directly attached to any 20x96mm worktop by way of two included TSO Triangle Dogs. Place the Triangle Dogs in your worktop and place the triangle over the dogs to establish a quick 45° or 90° reference edge.

Need to dial in a custom angle? That's where the protractor assembly comes in handy. When assembled as shown in the animation to the right, the MTR-X is transformed into a protractor for fine angle setting or—when inserted back into a 20mm worktop—a variable angle fence for cutting workpieces with a track saw.

MTR-X: Attached to Guide Rail

The included connector makes it easy to connect the MTR-X directly to your guide rail, allowing you to precisely cut any angle between 0° and 90°. This specially designed connector's low profile means it won't interfere with your track saw during deep plunge cuts, yet it provides rock-solid, rigid attachment to your guide rail. Compatible with Festool, Makita, Milwaukee, Kreg ACS and Powertec guide rails.

Made in USA USA Made, CNC Machined Precision

All TSO precision triangles are precision CNC machined from cast aluminum tooling plate for maximum dimensional stability and verified square with automated CMM to .001" along their full length. Each triangle is then anodized for a more durable and non-marring finish. Finally, angle graduations are laser engraved on both sides, making the scale easy to read even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.

  • Maximum Capability: Attach it directly to your worktop for use as a protractor or variable angle fence, attach it directly to your guide rail for angled cuts, attach it directly to your casework as a clamping angle, or use it like you would any compact precision triangle around the shop or on the jobsite.
  • Supremely Accurate: Machined on high-precision CNC machining centers and made from dimensionally stable precision aluminum tooling plate guaranteed square to within .001" over its entire length.
  • Festool Compatible: Triangle features five 20mm bored holes and a 20mm swept arc for attaching to the Festool MFT/3 or any other 20x96mm worktop.
  • Edge Index Pins: Included M6 index pins attach to the face of the triangle to establish a reference shoulder. The two longer pins are perfect for squaring elevated, hinged guide rails like those on the Festool MFT/3.
  • Clamping Square: Transform the MTR-X into a large clamping square with included aluminum angles. Secure with clamps (not included) to square cabinet casework during assembly or glue-up.
  • Made in the USA: The MTR-X is manufactured in low volume and stocked in Minnesota.
  • Protective Foam Systainer Insert: Keep all of your MTR-X accessories in one place with the included custom Kaizen foam insert, fitting T-LOC and Systainer3 enclosures. Add our very own Systainer3 M 112 enclosure for the perfect fit.

Prioritizing Precision
At TSO Products, we prioritize precision and quality in every tool we make. Our Precision Triangles are crafted from Alca 5 tooling plate, which provides exceptional flatness, stability, and accuracy for your projects.

While we emphasize visual consistency across our products, the nature of cast tooling plate may result in some minor variations in anodizing appearance. A challenge that all manufacturers of similar tools face. In our Triangle product line, we have chosen to prioritize function over uniform color to ensure the highest level of precision and reliability.

  • The freight carrier will be chosen by Hammer Roo based on parcel size, weight & receiving location. If you do not wish to have a certain carrier, please add this to the order notes and we will accommodate if possible.
  • While we endeavor to provide the postage option chosen at cart, sometimes this is not possible due to factors including; weight restrictions, physical size restrictions & location. We will endeavor to provide a similar service where possible eg. Australia Post Express may be replaced with TNT Express for larger items.
  • Please note the maximum package length that can be sent through Australia Post is 105cm and the maximum weight is 22kg. Anything over these dimensions will be sent via courier. If the parcel is outside these dimensions the parcel cannot be delivered to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers.
  • All items over 30kg needing a tailgate will be flagged on the product page & we will contact you to arrange a quote. For more information on the Tailgate Drop Fee please read below.

Insurance - Covering Loss/Damage In Transit

  • All freight companies used by Hammer Roo are general carriers and therefore do not cover damage or loss of goods in transit. Hammer Roo offers a simple insurance option, that is calculated at 2% of the value of goods (starting at $0.75), your order will be insured against damage and/or loss in transit.
  • We offer insurance on our website as an Opt-Out option for orders up to $5000 in value. In other words, it is automatically included. The only way it cannot be included is if you specifically untick the Insurance checkbox. This is your tacit agreement that you choose not to insure the goods and are taking risk with any issues that arise during the shipment of your order once it leaves Hammer Roo.
  • If you do not accept the insurance charge, you will do so at your own risk and any damage and/or loss is your responsibility. In all cases, we HIGHLY recommend the optional protection of insurance.

Optional Insurance Will Cover:

  • Damage from point of dispatch to point of delivery
  • Lost In Transit from point of dispatch to point of delivery

Optional Insurance Will Not Cover:

  • Items stolen from delivery address after carrier has successfully delivered the package.
  • Items labeled as Authority To Leave

Authority To Leave

  • If you want to have your order left at your address even if you are not home you can request Authority To Leave in the order notes during check out. If you request this option;
    • You are accepting responsibility for delivery of the item once it leaves the warehouse.
    • We assume a delivery has been made if the courier reports that the item has been delivered.
    • Non-delivery/Theft claims by customers will not be accepted if the carrier confirms delivery has been made even if optional insurance is purchased.

Tailgate Drop Fees

  • Any single product carton that weighs over 30kg must be shipped on a skid or pallet.
  • If a product is over 30kg you can:
    • Pick it up from the closest courier depot. Please advise us that you would like to choose this option, and when it arrives at the courier's depot they will be in touch to advise you it is ready for pick up. They will also set out any terms and conditions for the pick-up. It will be loaded via forklift so having an appropriate vehicle or trailer to allow this to happen is your requirement.
    • Pay a tailgate drop fee. This will mean that the truck arriving to deliver the goods will have a hydraulic tailgate that will safely set the skid on the ground with a manual pallet truck to move the skid to a reasonable position on the property so that it is deemed to be safely delivered. Tailgate drop fees vary based on carrier (usually $65-$90), please contact us for an accurate quote.
  • If your consignment fits the above criteria we will contact you prior to dispatch to confirm your preferred method and collect the tailgate drop fee if you choose that option for your delivery.

Manual Handling Surcharge (Overlength/Oversized Items)

  • Any item once packaged that measures over 1.2m, weighs over 30kg or cannot pass through automatic freight sortation machines and must be handled manually by freight companies.
  • For items 1.2 - 1.8m long there is a surcharge of $16.50 and for items 1.8m and longer there is a surcharge of $83.50 charged by the freight company to manually handle this freight.
  • Hammer Roo passes this charge on at cost. If you choose the In Store Pickup option there is no extra charge on your order for handling these items.

Return To Sender

  • If an unsuccessful attempt is made to deliver a parcel or parcel is uncollected within the carriers specified time-frame & the carrier returns the parcel to sender the customer will be responsible for re-delivery & return to sender charges.
