Description

Bench Connector Dogs Which Ingeniously Clamp from Above

Extend and connect multiple 20mm worktops with bench connecting dogs
Watch this video to see how easily you can extend and connect your 20mm worktops with Bench Connecting Dogs.

The latest addition to our growing line of Bench Connectors, Power‑Loc Dogs feature a patent-pending innovative cam action and swiveling locking lug that eliminates the need to use a clamping knob from beneath your workbench. Simply insert the Power-Loc Dog through the top of a chamfered 20mm dog hole, turn the socket head cap screw clockwise, and watch as the locking lug rotates outward and secures your worktops together. Power-Loc Bench Connector Dogs feature a total stock thickness capacity range from 30mm (1-3/16") to 40mm (1-9/16").

New! Two Versions Available with Different Clamping Ranges

Based on feedback from the TSO community, we've created a smaller version of the Power-Loc Dog ideal for use with a variety of TSO accessories or any use case where you need a clamping range less than 27mm (1.06"). This new, short dog has a clamping range of 15 to 29mm (0.59 to 1.14"), making it a great option for attaching accessories like the UJK Parf System Fence & Stop Kit; precision triangles (MTR-X, PTR-18, and MTR-18); and our Low & Ultra-Low Profile Bench Stops. With a shorter screw, they're also faster to clamp.

Choose your Power-Loc Dogs based on clamping range:

  • Power-Loc 15-29 Dog: Clamping range of 15 to 29mm (0.59 to 1.14")
  • Power-Loc 27-44 Dog: Clamping range of 27 to 44mm (1.06 to 1.73")

What's a "Bench Connector" Dog?

Modular and expandable work surfaces are nothing new, but craftsmen like Ron Paulk are pushing the concept forward with super lightweight, stowable, and flexible work surfaces. These designs utilise the familiar 20mm hole pattern as attachment points for layering additional work surfaces or jigs. Unlike traditional bench dogs which protrude from the work surface to act as a material stop, Bench Connector Dogs feature a chamfered lip that seats flush or slightly underneath your work surface.

While simple clamps can be used to layer and secure 20mm work surfaces, we're partial to Bench Connector Dogs for two main reasons: they provide precision registration and alignment of your work surfaces, and they apply strong clamping pressure without taking up valuable space on your worktop.

Picking the Right Bench Connector

The advantage of Power-Loc Dogs come in their self-contained clamping method. Rather than requiring an M8x1.25 clamping knob be attached and secured from underneath the table, Power-Loc Dogs are secured from the top of the table by way of an 5mm hex key or 5mm hex driver. This above-table clamping action may be preferred if the underside of your table is inaccessible, or if you don't wish to purchase or store additional clamping knobs.

Avoid over-torquing the Power-Loc Dog. A "snug fit" of the locking lug against the bottom work surface is all that is required.

To flush mount Power-Loc Dogs, you will need to chamfer the 20mm holes on your work surface. We recommend using a trim router with a quality 45˚ chamfer bit, as this allows you to perfectly adjust the depth of the chamfer to match these bench dogs. We do not recommend using the UJK Chamfer Tool in this instance, as its cutting depth is fixed and it is only recommended for MDF (not plywood).

  • Please note the maximum package length that can be sent through Australia Post is 105cm and the maximum weight is 22kg. Anything over these dimensions will be sent via courier. If the parcel is outside these dimensions the parcel cannot be delivered to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers.

Shipping Protection/Insurance - Covering Loss/Damage In Transit

  • All freight companies used by Hammer Roo are general carriers and do not cover damage or loss of goods in transit. To give you peace of mind, we offer optional shipping insurance at checkout. This covers your order against loss or damage during transit and is calculated at 2.5% of the order value (starting at $0.75) for domestic orders, or 5% for international orders.
  • Insurance is not automatically included. To protect your order, you must add shipping protection at checkout by selecting the shipping protection option.
  • If you choose not to add insurance, you do so entirely at your own risk. Hammer Roo accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage that may occur once your order leaves our premises. We are unable to assist with claims or compensation for uninsured shipments.
  • We HIGHLY recommend selecting insurance to safeguard your goods in transit.

What Insurance Covers:

  • Damage during transit from dispatch to delivery
  • Loss during transit from dispatch to delivery

What Insurance Does Not Cover:

  • Theft after successful delivery by the carrier
  • Deliveries marked as Authority to Leave

Authority To Leave

  • If you want to have your order left at your address even if you are not home you can request Authority To Leave in the order notes during check out. If you request this option;
    • You are accepting responsibility for delivery of the item once it leaves the warehouse.
    • We assume a delivery has been made if the courier reports that the item has been delivered.
    • Non-delivery/Theft claims by customers will not be accepted if the carrier confirms delivery has been made even if optional insurance is purchased.

Tailgate Drop Fees

  • Any single product carton that weighs over 30kg must be shipped on a skid or pallet.
  • If product is longer than 2.2m you must have means to unload at the destination via forklift, suitable manpower or pickup from the closest depot.
  • If a product is over 30kg you can:
    • Pick it up from the closest courier depot. Please advise us that you would like to choose this option, and when it arrives at the courier's depot they will be in touch to advise you it is ready for pick up. They will also set out any terms and conditions for the pick-up. It will be loaded via forklift so having an appropriate vehicle or trailer to allow this to happen is your requirement.
    • Pay a tailgate drop fee. This will mean that the truck arriving to deliver the goods will have a hydraulic tailgate that will safely set the skid on the ground with a manual pallet truck to move the skid to a reasonable position on the property so that it is deemed to be safely delivered. Tailgate drop fees vary based on carrier (usually $65-$90), please contact us for an accurate quote.
  • If your consignment fits the above criteria we will contact you prior to dispatch to confirm your preferred method and collect the tailgate drop fee if you choose that option for your delivery.

Manual Handling Surcharge (Overlength/Oversized Items)

  • Any item once packaged that measures over 1.2m, weighs over 30kg or cannot pass through automatic freight sortation machines and must be handled manually by freight companies.
  • For items 1.2 - 1.8m long there is a surcharge of $16.50 and for items 1.8m and longer there is a surcharge of $83.50 charged by the freight company to manually handle this freight.
  • Hammer Roo passes this charge on at cost. If you choose the In Store Pickup option there is no extra charge on your order for handling these items.

Return To Sender

  • If an unsuccessful attempt is made to deliver a parcel or parcel is uncollected within the carriers specified time-frame & the carrier returns the parcel to sender the customer will be responsible for re-delivery & return to sender charges.
  • These charges vary depending on carrier & location. Should the customer not make contact regarding the parcel after 3 months from returned date, the parcel will be classed as abandoned & discarded.
